Boris and Brie are two bonded dachshunds looking for a new home because their current family sadly can no longer care for them. They are a friendly and easy-going pair who are looking for a comfy sofa to snooze on and some interesting walks.
Boris and Brie are a sweet-natured pair who love their family and are good with people and other dogs. Boris is the more confident of the two and will accept cuddles from anyone. Brie takes a bit of time to get to know you, but once she accepts you, you will have a friend for life!
Both dogs can be reactive to strangers visiting the home but this is managed by keeping the dogs separate. Unfortunately, Brie bit a workman in a one-off incident this year when this wasn’t managed. As a result, her new family will be supported by our behaviourist to ensure the adoption is a success. They are both smart dogs and are responsive to training – no prior experience is needed, just patience and a calm, consistent approach.
Both dogs are in generally good health for their age, although Brie had an incident of pancreatitis, which is now managed through a low-fat diet.
Boris and Brie are both crate trained and sleep together in a crate at night-time. Both dogs provide each other with comfort and companionship and, once settled, can be left for periods of time. Brie is OK travelling in the car; Boris can cope with short journeys but is not a fan of anything of more than ½ hour or so.
Requirements in a home for Boris and Brie:
- No children
- No cats
- Could potentially live with other dogs, subject to a successful meeting
- Private garden
- Someone with the time and commitment to continue their training
