This handsome boy is the ultimate definition of a homebody who thrives on comfort and companionship. If you’re looking for a dog who loves to burrow under the duvet and spend his evenings right by your side, Dexter is your man! He absolutely adores attention, particularly belly rubs and gentle affection, once he has had a little time to warm up and trust you.

Dexter is looking for an adult-only home that understands his unique needs.. He has shown some resource guarding behaviours around high-value items, which his current owner has successfully managed; unfortunately this has previously resulted in him biting a teenager in the home when they have tried to take something from him. It’s crucial that his new family be mindful of this and commit to continuing positive management techniques to keep him and everyone safe. Dexter is a dog that values his comfort and consistency.

He is comfortable being left alone for a few hours, though he may bark initially. Ultimately, he would be happiest with an owner who is home most of the time and can include him in their daily routine. On the go, Dexter is a great traveler and happily settles in the car. He is house-trained and sleeps soundly in his own bed downstairs at night.

Dexter is a sensitive and deeply loving dog who, with patience and trust, will reward his new owner with unwavering loyalty and endless cuddles. 

Requirements in a home:

• A calm and consistent environment with low foot traffic
• Someone who is home most of the time
• Happy to work with our behaviourist to manage Dexters behaviour
• Cannot live with children
• Cannot live with other dogs
• Cannot live with cats
