Dolly is a beautiful black-and-tan dachshund who is looking for a loving home where she can settle and start to live life to the full. She is a typical, smart dachshund who loves walks and exploring.
Dolly currently lives in a busy family home with another dog and this is overwhelming her. She is a sensitive girl who can be reactive to strangers and dogs, which means she can be very barky when meeting new people. In a one-off incident over a year ago, she nipped a visiting teenager – no blood was drawn, but it highlights that she needs a calm, consistent environment without children or frequent visitors. She also does not get on with the other family dog, so needs a pet free home. We will provide behaviourist support to help Dolly learn to be calmer with strangers and other dogs and to ensure the adoption is a success.
For the right person—someone patient, experienced (or prepared to learn), and ready to move at her pace—Dolly will be a devoted and rewarding companion. She’s looking for a quiet home, structured routine, and someone who appreciates just how clever and special she is.
Dolly is crate-trained and house-trained. She is a sweet girl who can be left occasionally for up to 4 hours, once she is settled.
