Franklin and Ronnie are two beautiful boys who share a very special bond and are now looking for their forever home together. Sadly, due to a change in their owner’s work schedule, they are being left for long periods of time and their family knows they deserve more love, freedom, and attention than they can currently give, so they’ve made the heartbreaking decision to help them find a new home.

Franklin

Ronnie is the smaller of the pair and is often described as being “like a little baby.” He absolutely adores cuddles and fuss and will snuggle up on your lap or even wriggle inside your jumper to be close. Like many dachshunds, he loves being wrapped up cosy and warm, and his favourite place of all is snuggled in bed with his humans, tucked in as close as possible.
He is fine with children and has grown up being handled and cuddled by his current owner’s son. Ronnie’s gentle, affectionate nature shines through when meeting friends, children, and visitors, and he’s always ready for more cuddles. His family fondly call him Mini Mouse because of his tiny size and sweet, timid character.
Franklin is a little bigger than Ronnie and equally as affectionate. He loves nothing more than tummy rubs, ear scratches, and cuddles with his humans. He does have some allergies that are managed through diet and daily supplements, which keep him happy and healthy.
Franklin can be a bit more wary around children that he doesn’t know or when they are noisy and approach too quickly For this reason we feel a home with dog savvy older children would be best suited. Like many dachshunds, Franklin takes his role as the “doorbell” seriously and will bark when people or dogs arrive, eager to say hello and get some fuss, once settled Franklin is happiest on someone’s lap, soaking up all the love he can.
Franklin adores his food and treats but must avoid chicken. He can also be a bit of an escape artist, so his new home will need a secure garden, with gates and doors always kept safely shut. He is also kept on the lead when out walking as he has no recall.
Franklin and Ronnie love their walks and especially enjoy meeting other dachshunds. They can both be reactive to other breeds so patient, confident handling will be important.
Both dogs are housetrained, crate trained and can be left for up to four hours. They can be anxious in the car at first but soon settle down. They have not been around cats so we feel a home without cats is preferred.
Franklin and Ronnie are deeply loving, funny, and affectionate boys who will bring endless joy to the right home. Because they are so bonded, they must be adopted together.
