Despite being a friendly, energetic and extremely handsome boy, Stan is still looking for his forever home.  This sweet and clever boy has so much potential – he just needs a home with someone who has the time and patience to provide consistent structure and training.

Stan has had a whirlwind year so far and has coped admirably with the challenges it has presented.  An adoption did not work out because he was unable to live with the other resident dog and he subsequently moved to kennels in Yorkshire where he has settled well and responded positively to the clear routines and structure.  He needs to be an only dog and is a classic wire-hair with a cheeky, mischievous nature.

Stan loves his humans and is happiest when he’s out on walks, playing games or learning new things.  He will thrive in a calm, quiet home where someone is around a lot of the time and can give him the walks and attention he needs.

Although affectionate, sometimes Stan can resource guard toys and food.  The Red Foundation will provide behaviour support so his new family can manage this and help him to learn he no longer needs to do this.

He isn’t crate-trained, is house-trained and is fine on a car journey.

Requirements in a home:

• someone who is home much of the day
• someone who can commit to his ongoing training
• a garden and/ or regular access to a secure field for exercise and training
• no cats or dogs
• no children
