These two wonderful little boys are looking for a new home. Their mum is battling terminal cancer and the family would dearly love to know that they are settled in their new home so that she can concentrate on the journey ahead, knowing that they are safe and loved – as these gorgeous boys truly deserve.

Let’s start with Gizmo. He’s the older of the two at 6 years of age. Last year, he successfully underwent surgery for IVDD. the only time it seems to affect him is in the morning as he stands up, a little wobbly, for a minute, before shaking himself off and then running round.
He is certainly determined to keep going, loves his walks and has been known to be out for 2 hours although also happy with a gentle stroll around the park and a play in the garden.
Gizmo is a little more reserved with people, but likes to sit next to his family and be stroked, and might then, once he’s had enough fuss, take himself off to his crate for a while, before returning for more attention. He’s calmer than his slightly younger brother.
Loki is a lovely dog who still hasn’t grown up. He makes everyone laugh with his adorable, playful ways and incredibly affectionate behaviour; nothing gives him more pleasure than showering his loved ones with kisses. He’s terrified of feathers ( so won’t be ripping any pillows or chasing birds) but loves to do a roly-poly on wet towels left on the floor.
Both boys are house trained, not crate trained and like to sleep with their owners. They haven’t been cat tested so we feel a home without cats would be preferred and as they are never left a home where someone is home a lot of the time or is happy to work on separation anxiety.
They’re both good on leads, although Loki does pull a little more, and has worn bootees to protect the pads. like a lot of dachshunds they can be barky when meeting dogs outside the home (and are incredibly good at letting the family know there are dogs on the screen/in the street or a leaf falling – but this is what we know and love from this wonderful breed.)
The family are heartbroken at what is to come, but would feel so much better if they knew the dogs are going to be happy.
