Otto is a lovely, affectionate young dog who’s been through a bit of a rollercoaster lately. After some challenging times, he’s looking for a calm, experienced home where he can settle and truly flourish.

Otto was surrendered originally in February 2025 after his owner fell ill and could no longer look after him. They then decided to re-home him themselves but sadly, this didn’t work out so Otto was re-surrendered to us, with a note from the owner to say that his time away had changed his behaviour slightly. Once a dog who was always eager for cuddles and play, Otto began to show signs of stress and, at times, had a tendency to snap in moments of fear or discomfort. It’s important to note that this behaviour was something new for him and likely a result of the upheaval he had been through.

Unfortunately, after another attempt at re-homing by us, Otto did bite his new male owner. This led to his return, but it also gave us a chance to work with him more closely. He was placed in a rehabilitation kennels where he’s been thriving, coming on leaps and bounds and is now the happy, playful boy we knew he could be. No further incidents of biting have occurred, and he’s described as a wonderful, loving dog who is ready for a fresh start with the right family.

Otto is looking for an active home with someone who has experience with dogs who have had a history of fear-based reactions. They need to be confident or he will try to rule the roost! He’s incredibly loving and social with people and dogs alike, but due to his high prey drive, we’d recommend a home without small furries or cats. He is wary of strangers but doesn’t take him long to come round to them. Support and advice will be provided by our behaviour team to ensure that Otto settles well  

Otto is housetrained, crate trained, gets along with other dogs but due to his bite history cannot be homed with children. 

Requirements in a home for Otto:

• Quiet and calm, adult only home
• A confident owner familiar with dogs who have bite/mouthing history 
• No children
• No cats
