Zissou is a 5 year old mini dachshund who was surrendered to us when he went down with grade 5 IVDD. He is now settled into his forever home and has a new girlfriend too!

Luckily Zissou likes nothing more than burying down in his blankets and sleeping which has meant his crate rest was fairly easy going. Zissou was originally an only dog however he now has Six brothers and sisters and has adapted to a busy house exceptionally well.  His character is now really starting to show, he loves cuddles and food. He makes sure he’s not forgotten when the treats are given out by reminding us loudly that he’s there!  Being used to sleeping in his crate, Zissou has now found the luxury of the bed and much prefers it.

Zissou is still not weight bearing in his hind legs and has no or minimal DPS and is still incontinent,  but he loves his walks in his trusty push chair chariot! He didn’t take well to wheels but he feels as the prince he is, he shouldn’t be expected to put any effort in to his walks, not when his slaves will push him along and he can watch the world go by from his lofty perch!

Zissou also suffered from skin complaints caused by excessive yeast production that affects his ears and skin to his front end but he is no longer sporting the look of a scaly dragon and is back to his handsome self and is fur has grown back too.
