Dexter is a gorgeous boy, who loves cuddles with his humans. He is being rehomed due to the family having a new baby and they feel he would be better suited to a home where more time can be dedicated to him.
Dexter loves his humans and is described as a big softy, but he can be reactive to strangers inside and out of the home, however with time and management he is able to settle.
Dexter is reactive to dogs on walks, however this has improved with the help of a behaviourist and although this will need to be worked on in his new home he is receptive to training. He has until recently lived with a female dachshund and got on well with her, although she wasn’t very interested in playing with him. We feel that he could live with a calm dog, although successful introductions will be required.
Dexter is crate trained, however as he has got older the crate door has been left open and he can be left alone for up to 4 hours. He also travels well in the car.
Requirements in a home:
- Calm rural or semi-rural home with a garden
- Children 14+
- Possibility to live with another dog after successful introductions
- No cats
- Adoption fee is £350
