Peter is a charming and sweet boy looking for a calm and quiet environment where he can truly blossom. While the world can seem a little overwhelming to this sensitive little man, once he forms a bond and learns to trust you, he transforms into a bundle of joy! Peter loves nothing more than a cozy cuddle on the sofa or playing happily with his favorite toys. If you’re looking for a loyal companion, a little shadow happy to curl up on your lap all day then Peter could be your perfect match.

Peter thrives in a predictable, low-stress household. Due to his nervous nature and past history of biting when startled or approached without consent, Peter cannot live with children. His ideal adopter will be his biggest supporter and a strong advocate, ensuring that people respect his personal space and avoid invading it before he is ready.

Peter currently lives successfully with a female Dachshund. Given his nervous disposition, we feel he would greatly benefit from a calm, confident canine sibling in his new home. A gentle companion could help hold his paw and show him that the world isn’t so scary after all!

Peter’s new person will need to be patient and committed to earning his trust through time and positive reinforcement. While he can sometimes be reactive on walks, all necessary behavioral support will be provided by The Red Foundation to help his new family manage this and continue building his confidence. Peter is worth the effort – the reward is a lifetime of unconditional love and snuggles!
