Susie is described by her current owner as a funny, sassy, and affectionate little dog who is always full of energy and joy. Sadly, she is being surrendered because she has become aggressive towards the older resident dog, who is unwell. The two now need to be kept apart in separate areas of the house, which isn’t sustainable long-term.

Susie is a bundle of personality. She has the waggiest tail, happily skips everywhere, and loves nothing more than cuddles, kisses, and being close to her people. She has a cheeky streak and can be stubborn at times, so she’ll need some kind boundaries to guide her. She’s also protective of her family but loves greeting visitors with lots of enthusiasm.

This clever girl is food-motivated (though she can sometimes pretend to be fussy if she thinks she’ll get away with it!) and will do almost anything for treats. She enjoys the outdoors, though she can be vocal when she sees things that catch her eye. Susie has also discovered her voice indoors, she loves to “chat” back when you talk to her!

While Susie has lived with other dogs in the past, her struggles with the current resident dog mean we feel she’d be happiest either as an only dog or possibly with a calm, neutered male after careful introductions. She hasn’t shown aggression towards dogs outside the home, though she can be barky on walks. She has no bite history but did growl at a child who wouldn’t leave her alone, so a home with older, dog-savvy children would be most suitable.

Susie is housetrained, crate trained and at night, will sleep soundly in her crate and is always so excited to greet her family in the morning. She travels well in the car and enjoys new adventures. Susie cannot live with cats.

Susie would thrive in a calm but active home with regular walks to burn off her energy, clear routines, and loving owners who can give her the cuddles, structure, and attention she craves. In return, she promises endless affection, laughter, and tail wags.
