Hi, mum says I have to write a bit about me. So here goes…

I’m Mash and I’m 10 years old. I am paralysed and doubly incontinent after surgery for IVDD didn’t work.

I’ve been with my family since September 2022 initially with the view of just being an emergency placement…. However, mum and dad had other ideas and I was officially adopted that Christmas.

Even though I’m paralysed, mum says I don’t really require any special treatment apart from having my bladder expressed a couple of times a day, I wear nappies the rest of the time, and a drag bag (mum has found baby gro-bags work rather well)

I have a wonderful life with my family, visiting beaches, riding trains and snuggling with my 2 TRF siblings.  If we go out for walks then I have my wheels (turns me into a speedy dog) or my buggy and I live life to the full!

The Red Foundation have provided my pawrents with information on how to obtain my wheels and buggy from another wonderful charity they work closely with, along with lots of information about IVDD and ongoing support from the team and IVDD specialists. Until I came into mum’s life, she had never had any experience of it, especially bladder expression but she is now a pro.

All in all life is terrific for me and it’s sad that most people won’t consider adopting a disabled dog. The Red Foundation rely on angels like my mum to see through the physical disabilities and love us as we are knowing that our lives can be as happy and full as a dog with four working legs.
